GMD’s belief in total customer service is our commitment that we will work with you from the facility planning stages through equipment installation, start up and demonstration. Western Michigan Distributors (WMD) was formed in 1983 primarily as a Manitowoc Ice Machine distributor for the western half of Michigan. In November of 1999, WMD was awarded the Manitowoc Ice Machine territory for the eastern half of the state and we opened a second office and warehouse to service the greater Detroit market. With our new, expanded geographic coverage, we changed our name to Greater Michigan Distributors. When our clients began asking GMD for a wider range of foodservice products, we listened by adding new manufacturers, new products and enhanced services. We are now GMD Foodservice Marketing- a name that better reflects our wide range of offerings and our continued dedication to providing our clients with the finest products and customer service in the industry.
